CONFIRMED MISSION
6th Annual Arkansas Fallen Heroes Memorial Service
Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery
1501 Maryland Ave.
North Little Rock, AR, 28MAR09
The American Legion Post 74 and the Department of Veterans Affairs invites
the Patriot Guard Riders to return and support this special service again this
year.
The American Legion "Michael Vann Johnson Jr." Post 74 will host the 6th
annual Memorial Service honoring all Arkansas Heroes who have fallen since
9/11/2001.
On March 25, 2003, Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Michael Vann Johnson Jr.
of Little Rock became the first Arkansas casualty in the Global War on
Terrorism. Over 80 Arkansas Heroes have fallen in defense of our freedom since
that time.
This service will be attended by a number of dignitaries, Military,
American Legion, and VA Department officials, Gold Star families, youth groups, and
much more. The names of the Fallen will be read and Full Military Honors will
be rendered in their memory.
The Patriot Guard will stand a flag line at the perimeter of the ceremony
site. Plenty of flags should be on hand for the attendees. There is little
parking available so it is important to stage on time.
STAGING: 0930HR, 28MAR09 at the WALMART Parking Lot, Maryland Ave. @ JFK
Blvd. Due to very limited parking, bikes will proceed the short distance to the
Cemetery as a group to a small reserved area, KSU 1000, BIG FLAGS ENCOURAGED.
Cagers are asked to take advantage of the shuttles that will be running from
locations to be announced or pool together. We will ensure everyone that
needs a ride will get one.
FLAGLINE will be in position at 1055HR and will remain until service is
concluded. Mission complete at that time. Be prepared to shake lots of hands and
trade some hugs!
Tom "Big Ack" Ackerman will serve as Ride Captain for this very important
mission.
